Optimizing Citrix XenApp for the Virtual Data Center

From:  Douglas A. Brown

Hello,
For my European friends out there, if you were not able to attend the recent webinar on Optimizing XenApp with Shawn Bass and Jim Moyle then don’t worry as Jim is going to be hosting another one on the 25th at 1PM BST!  Just for you!!!   What else do I say, this is an amazing session by an amazing presenter on an amazing topic.  Enough said, now on with the invite:
There is a massive install base of customers on Citrix XenApp with Windows Server 2003 that must move to Citrix XenApp 6.5 with Server 2008 R2 by July 2013. When customers migrate to XenApp 6.5, the majority will virtualise XenApp servers to take advantage of the manageability and consolidation benefits of server virtualisation. However, the combination of virtualising XenApp, upgrading to Windows Server 2008 R2 and shared storage introduces performance issues with provisioning, boot time and application response time for IO bound applications.
In this session, Citrix CTP Jim Moyle will discuss the storage and performance challenges of virtualising and migrating Citrix XenApp deployments and ways to optimise XenApp for performance and scalability. Jim will present detailed LoginVSI and ioMeter test results showing how to optimize virtualized Citrix XenApp on Windows Server 2008 R2 to improve provisioning time, boot time, application response time and reduce storage requirements.
