Summary
This document describes how to use Windows Server 2008 Release 2 Server Network File System (NFS) as a storage repository for XenServer.
Procedure
NFS is a Role Service of File Services.
Launch Server Manager.
Choose Roles.
Select File Services.
Click Next for the following two screens.
Select Services for Network File System.
Click Next.
Choose Install.
Click Close after the installation has completed.
Create the folder that you would like to use as the XenServer NFS Storage Repository. Open the properties of the folder. Select the NFS Sharing tab.
Choose Manage NFS Sharing.
Select the option to share this folder.
Accept all defaults.
Click the Permissions button.
The default permission grant all devices read-only access to the NFS share.
Highlight the All Machines entry.
Change type of acess to No Access.
Click the Add button.
In the Add Names section, enter the IP address of the XenServer host(s).
Select the option to Allow root access.
Click OK on the next three screen.
Click Close.
You can now add the NFS share to your XenServer using the new storage repository wizard from the XenCenter console.
